The plan is simple and with two goals: I'm riding my motorcycle, a Victory Cross Country Tour, from San Jose, CA to all four corners of the contiguous United States and to capture bragging rights of the Iron Butt Association's 50 CC ride, riding from one United States' coast to the other, in fifty total hours or less.
For the bottom two corners, I'll be accompanied by my lovely wife, Melissa "Hurricane" Feather, from San Jose to San Diego (the first corner, 'natch) and then the sprint across the southern comfort of the US, San Diego to Jacksonville, FL. From there, we'll ride down to Miami and spend a couple of days at the beach before she returns home via plane and I continue the journey: Key West, FL (second and furthest point south of the US), Sail Rock, ME (northeast corner), over to Neah Bay, WA (northwest), and back home to San Jose.
That's the plan.
We leave today, 5/7/14, at 8 AM-ish and travel down US-101 to Irvine, CA, where we'll be staying with one of our wonderful friends, John "Slice" Bramley, for the evening, before heading to San Diego the next day to prep for the 50 CC.
Here's the bike in full barcalounger mode...
